We are glad to have been part of the last European Aeronautics Science Network (EASN) Conference, held on 16-18th of October in Porto (Portugal).
The Conference aimed at exchanging information about the current research and development activities in aeronautics. It included plenary sessions by renowned speakers, open discussions with researchers from the industry and academia, and thematic sessions hosting different European research projects. It also featured different workshops meant to discuss novel ideas, current achievements, technologies, products, services and processes in order to foster the cooperation between participants.
OPTICS was presented during the session dedicated to the Support Actions for Coordinating Research in the Field of Aeronautics & Air Transport, together with presentations of the other CSAs CAPPADOCIA, CATER and FORUM-AE respectively on Cost-efficiency, Time-efficiency and Emissions & Environment. The session was an excellent opportunity to look at the methodology applied by each CSA and to exchange information on the preliminary results. It was also a good chance for promoting cooperation among CSAs and for networking with each other’s partners.
In this context, OPTICS was particularly appreciated for the structured approach based on the SRIA and for its successful interaction with its reference ACARE Working Group (WG4) on Safety and Security.
