OPTICS2 project has started

Right after the end of OPTICS, in October 2017 OPTICS2 has started.

OPTICS has analysed 243 aviation safety research projects and ran four workshops where experts discussed research priorities, coming up with a list of urgent and strategic research needs. Europe is already on a good track, but harder questions need to be addressed, such as: Is the funded research helping to resolve Europe’s top aviation safety risks? Is the research-to-industry business model working well?

OPTICS2 will carry on the OPTICS work, enlarging its scope to aviation security research and potential cross-fertilisation opportunities from other industries. The OPTICS2 team is already at work and will publish updates, new findings and results soon.
